Preziosa Young 2010: Call for applications
Preziosa Young is an annual contemporary jewellery exhibition hosted by Le Arti Orafe, a renowned jewellery academy in Florence Italy. International goldsmiths, designers and artists are invited to submit applications to participate.
Preziosa Young aims to contribute to the diffusion of what is new in conceptual or research jewellery, presenting the work of a new generation of goldsmiths, designers and artists. The exhibition is a satellite event of Preziosa – an art project begun in 2005 by Le Arti Orafe that has gained a reputation as one of the most important contemporary jewellery events in Europe.
Participation in the Preziosa Young event is competitive. The exhibition does not have a predetermined theme but the works put forward must be outstanding in terms of research into form and technique and display continuity and coherence in that research. The items of jewellery may be created in any material.
Designers and artists involved must attach a personal statement to the application form. To be eligible to must be no older than 35 years at the end of 2010.
To apply designers must post:
– An application form
– Five images of their work
– Detailed description of the submitted pieces including information on material used, technique, size etc.
Applications are due 15 January 2010.
The jury will announce the results of the selection by end of February 2010. Selected artists will then receive instructions on sending their pieces to Italy.
If you are sending an entry from a country that is not part of the European Union be aware that the event organisers will not receive any shipments or return any items to you if customs, taxes or other charges must be paid. To send entries customs-free from non-EU countries, please use a Carnet A.T.A. which you can obtain from the Chamber of Commerce in your country. Please note that it may take some time for the Chamber of Commerce to issue this Carnet A.T.A.
