Powerhouse Museum International Lace Award 2010
Entries are currently being accepted for the International Lace Award. Entrants compete to win a share of AUD$40,000 in prize money and for other exciting opportunities.
One of the aims of the award is to challenge conventional notions of lace and its applications, consequently for this award the Powerhouse Museum defines lace as ‘An openwork structure in which the pattern of spaces is as important as the solid areas.’
Using the above definition as inspiration, entrants are invited to create an original work in lace that can be worn or used in the built environment or interprets lace in digital multimedia.
Expressions of interest due 29 March 2010.
