The Australia Council’s Skills and Arts Development Residency program supports excellence in the arts by providing professional development opportunities for craftspeople, designers, media artists and visual artists. Applications for Barcelona, Helsinki, Liverpool, London, New York, Paris, Rome and Tokyo are now open for 2012. Applications due 12 August 2011. MakeUpHarvest Textiles launches the MakeUP workshops during this year’s State of Design Festival. Here up-cycling and material reinvention will create new stories with old things in a series of five workshops over two weekends.
