Public artist talk with Matthew Harding

Craftsouth’s latest INFORM event in Adelaide features Melbourne-based public artist and designer Matthew Harding. Matthew will speak about the ‘tos and fros’ and risk-taking involved in developing public art, as well as the sense of accomplishment once a public art commission is complete.

The designer’s training in the visual arts, construction industries and various craft traditions has led him to use materials ranging from cutting edge technologies to wood, stone and bronze in the production of objects such as delicate fine art pieces, prototype designs for production or large scale public sculpture. Currently he is fabricating eight 10 metre light sculptures bound for the Shanghai World Expo 2010.

The talk will be held Wednesday 11 November 2009 at 5:45pm for a 6:00pm start.

RSVP by email or phone is essential by 5:00pm Monday 9 November 2009.
