			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Applications for the Firstdraft Emerging Artist Studio Residency Program is open for 2012.</div>
<div>The Firstdraft studio program provides emerging artists with the opportunity to develop their practice and exhibit work within a dynamic artistic community at the Firstdraft Depot in Woolloomooloo, central Sydney.</div>
<div>Studio artists are encouraged to utilise the timeframe and the studio to create and exhibit work not normally encouraged by the short time frames available for installing work. The program provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with access to a community of peers, encouraging artists to become more involved in an Artist Run Initiative.</div>

		<description><![CDATA[Space Furniture has joined forces with Italian manufacturer Edra, to launch the Space + Edra 2010 Design Residency. The two month programme will place an Australian designer inside the Edra headquarters in Perignano, near Pisa and in Milan, Italy, under the guidance of one of the world’s leading design thinkers, Edra’s Art Director Massimo Morozzi.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Applications are sought for the Australia House artist-in-residence program. The residency will be held in Urada in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan between 1 June and 7 August 2010.</p>
<p>Australia House was established as part of the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial, a festival intended to revitalise the Niigata Prefecture, a rural area famous for its beautiful<br />
terraced rice fields and heavy snowfalls </p>
<p>One artist, designer or craftsperson and one accompanying person will be selected for the program. The organiser will provide a grant of up to AUD $17,000 to the artist to assist with the costs of taking part in the residency.</p>
<p><strong>Applications are due 28 February 2010.<br />

<p>Applicants working in the fields of visual arts, design, architecture, performing arts, literature and music are invited to apply for this opportunity.</p>
<p>Each of the two grants cover:</p>
<p>- Return tickets from the artists&#8217; home country<br />
- Transportation to and from Chiang Mai international airport<br />
- A small artist fee<br />
- Access to accomodation/studio<br />
- Three home cooked meals per day</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://www.covepark.org">Cove Park</a> centre for the arts and creative industries in Scotland is calling for applications from international designers and makers interested in undertaking a three month residency. The successful applicant will receive a resident&#8217;s fee of £5,200, a research/materials allowance of £750, high quality self-catering accommodation and access to a dedicated private studio space.</p>
<p>The residency is funded by the Scottish Arts Council and will take place from 3 May to 30 July 2010 at Cove Park, a fifty-acre site on Scotland&#8217;s west coast just 60 minutes from Glasgow by road or rail. The craft and design residencies strongly emphasise the provision of time for individual research and to experiment with new ideas, forms and techniques.</p>
