Getting Export Smart workshop 1: Preparing for export

Trade Queensland's Getting Export Smart is a half-day workshop that provides participants with framework for planning their export strategy. It is the first of a four part series focused on export skills development offered by the Queensland Government.

Queensland companies, both large and small, are successfully growing their businesses through exporting. If you have the right product, the right attitude and the know-how, you too can sell overseas.

Getting Export Smart is the Queensland Government’s export skills development program, a series of four workshops that will take you through the basics of what you need to know to get started in overseas markets. The program shows you how to plan for export, market what you’ve got overseas and get paid for it, and maximise your exports online.

The first workshop will cover:

– The export process and how exporting fits into your business
– The five Cs of exporting – company, country, customer, contact and competitors
– How to screen and select export markets
– The importance of market research and doing your homework
– An introduction to export planning.

It will be held Wednesday 28 April 2010 from 9:00am to 1:30pm at the Gold Coast Regional Centre, Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation, 26 Marine Parade, Southport.

Participation in this workshop costs $33.00 including GST.
